The intention of the respect is to make sure it never happens again.

HTH mate.

H&P Does that include respect for the IRA "soldiers", who lost their lives bravely dropping bombs in supermarkets killing people, including children, who could not give a fuck about either catholics or protestants in NI?

What it represents, like what YOU represent, is up to you.

I’ve decided it represents respect for the dead on all sides in all wars, and will be wearing one.

I don't care if he wears the poppy or not. That's a personal choice.

What grates on me is that he always plays the victim yet always plays up to it by filming himself signing along to Rebel songs in his car and generally being a twat on the football pitch.

This is precisely why we should never consider having Rangers and Celtic in the premiership.

Re: James McClean - Stoke City
To me, it represents, the British army, the British empire, who came and slaughtered innocent Irish men and women. For those reasons, my personal choice would be not to wear it.

What does the poppy represent to you?

, 8:35 Mon Nov 5
Re: James McClean - Stoke City
So, why would you refuse to wear a poppy?

collyrob 8:35 Mon Nov 5
Re: James McClean - Stoke City
I wouldn’t wear one because of what it represents to me, to my family, to my people. If another Irish person chooses to wear them that’s up to them. But me personally, I would never wear one.

Joe, we already know that but what is his reason for not wearing a poppy, in the circumstance that McClean has refused, say in comparison with McClean's explanation.

Re: James McClean - Stoke City
Eggy

I reckon he just likes playing football and making shitloads of money to look after his family.

I’d love to make 50k a week playing in England and I’d also refuse to wear a poppy.
